Description

Human FUS ELISA Kit

Human FUS ELISA kits are used to detect Fusion (FUS) in tissue homogenates, cell lysates and other biological samples. FUS is a DNA- and RNA-binding protein of the FET family, also known as TLS or hnRNP P2, that has roles in transcription regulation, RNA splicing, RNA transport, and DNA repair and damage response. It binds nascent pre-mRNAs and acts as a molecular link between RNA polymerase II and the U1 small nuclear ribonucleoprotein, thereby coupling transcription and splicing, and it regulates its own expression by binding its own pre-mRNA. FUS also promotes D-loop formation during DNA repair. It shuttles between the nucleus and cytoplasm and takes part in stress granules and RNA granule formation. Mutations in FUS cause familial amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, and the FUS-DDIT3 fusion drives myxoid liposarcoma, so FUS is studied in neurodegeneration and cancer.
