Description

Human GABPa ELISA Kit

Human GABPa ELISA kits are used to detect GA Binding Protein Transcription Factor Alpha (GABPa) in tissue homogenates, cell lysates and other biological samples. GABPa, the alpha subunit of GA-binding protein, is an ETS-family transcription factor, also known as nuclear respiratory factor 2 or NRF-2. It binds purine-rich GA repeat elements in DNA and combines with the GABPb subunit, which supplies the transactivation function, to form a functional heterotetramer. GABP regulates a wide range of genes, including many required for mitochondrial biogenesis and respiratory function, such as cytochrome c oxidase subunits, and genes for cell cycle control. It positively regulates transcription of the repressor RHIT, also called ZNF205, and it is needed for expression of the adenovirus E4 gene. GABPa is therefore studied in mitochondrial regulation and cell proliferation..
