Human GALK2 Recombinant Protein (N-His) is a recombinant protein expressed in E. coli, spanning Met1-Ala458, with an N-terminal His tag. Predicted molecular weight: 52.54 kDa. Purity: >90% as determined by SDS-PAGE. Supplied lyophilized from a solution in PBS pH 7.4, 1 mM EDTA, 4% Trehalose, 1% Mannitol. Applications: ELISA, immunogen, SDS-PAGE and Western blot. N-acetylgalactosamine kinase is a ~50 kDa protein. Acts on GalNAc. For research use only.
Also acts as a galactokinase when galactose is present at high concentrations. May be involved in a salvage pathway for the reutilization of free GalNAc derived from the degradation of complex carbohydrates.
