Human GFM2 Recombinant Protein (N-His)
Human GFM2 Recombinant Protein (N-His) is a recombinant protein expressed in E. coli, spanning Ala461-Thr779, with an N-terminal His tag. Purity: >90% as determined by SDS-PAGE. Supplied lyophilized from a solution in PBS pH 7.4, 1 mM EDTA, 4% Trehalose, 1% Mannitol. Applications: ELISA, immunogen, SDS-PAGE and Western blot. Ribosome-releasing factor 2, mitochondrial is a ~86 kDa protein. Mitochondrial GTPase that mediates the disassembly of ribosomes from messenger RNA at the termination of mitochondrial protein biosynthesis. For research use only.
Acts in collaboration with MRRF. Promotes mitochondrial ribosome recycling by dissolution of intersubunit contacts. GTP hydrolysis follows the ribosome disassembly and probably occurs on the ribosome large subunit. Not involved in the GTP-dependent ribosomal translocation step during translation elongation.
