Description

Human GITR ELISA Kit

Human GITR ELISA kits are used to detect Glucocorticoid Induced Tumor Necrosis Factor Receptor (GITR) in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell lysates and other biological samples. GITR, also known as TNFRSF18 or AITR, is a member of the tumour necrosis factor receptor superfamily and the receptor for its ligand TNFSF18, also called GITRL. It is constitutively expressed at high levels on regulatory T cells and is induced on effector T cells and NK cells after activation. GITR signals through the TRAF2 and NIK pathway to activate NF-kappa-B, and it appears to be involved in interactions between activated T lymphocytes and endothelial cells and in the regulation of T-cell receptor-mediated cell death. Stimulation of GITR can enhance effector T cell function and reduce the suppressive activity of regulatory T cells, so it has been studied in autoimmunity, infection and cancer immunotherapy.
