Description
Human GLUT4/SLC2A4 Recombinant Protein (N-His-SUMO)
Human GLUT4/SLC2A4 Recombinant Protein (N-His-SUMO) is a recombinant protein expressed in E. coli, spanning Cys223-Leu278, with an N-terminal His-SUMO tag. Predicted molecular weight: 19.09 kDa. Purity: >90% as determined by SDS-PAGE. Supplied lyophilized from a solution in PBS pH 7.4, 0.02% NLS, 1 mM EDTA, 4% Trehalose, 1% Mannitol. Applications: ELISA, immunogen, SDS-PAGE and Western blot. Solute carrier family 2, facilitated glucose transporter member 4 (GLUT4/SLC2A4) is a ~54 kDa protein. Insulin-regulated facilitative glucose transporter, which plays a key role in removal of glucose from circulation. For research use only.
Response to insulin is regulated by its intracellular localization: in the absence of insulin, it is efficiently retained intracellularly within storage compartments in muscle and fat cells. Upon insulin stimulation, translocates from these compartments to the cell surface where it transports glucose from the extracellular milieu into the cell.
