Description
Human GOT1 Recombinant Protein (N-His)
Human GOT1 Recombinant Protein (N-His) is a recombinant protein expressed in E. coli, spanning Met1-Gln413, with an N-terminal His tag. Predicted molecular weight: 48.41 kDa. Purity: >90% as determined by SDS-PAGE. Supplied lyophilized from a solution in PBS pH 7.4, 0.02% NLS, 1 mM EDTA, 4% Trehalose, 1% Mannitol. Applications: ELISA, immunogen, SDS-PAGE and Western blot. Aspartate aminotransferase, cytoplasmic (GOT1) is a ~46 kDa protein. Biosynthesis of L-glutamate from L-aspartate or L-cysteine. For research use only.
Important regulator of levels of glutamate, the major excitatory neurotransmitter of the vertebrate central nervous system. Acts as a scavenger of glutamate in brain neuroprotection. The aspartate aminotransferase activity is involved in hepatic glucose synthesis during development and in adipocyte glyceroneogenesis. Using L-cysteine as substrate, regulates levels of mercaptopyruvate, an important source of hydrogen sulfide.
