Description

Human GZMM ELISA Kit

Human GZMM ELISA kits are used to detect Granzyme M (GZMM) in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates and other biological samples. GZMM, or granzyme M, is a serine protease stored in the cytotoxic granules of natural killer cells and some T cells, and it is unusual among granzymes in preferentially cleaving peptide substrates after methionine, leucine and norleucine. When released into a target cell together with perforin, it promotes caspase activation and subsequent apoptosis. Its identified physiological substrates include ezrin, alpha-tubulins and the apoptosis inhibitor survivin, so it can disrupt cytoskeletal organisation and remove cell survival signals. Altered granzyme M levels have been reported in infection, autoimmune and inflammatory conditions and in tumours, and it is studied as a marker of cytotoxic lymphocyte activity.
