Description

Human HIST1H2AB ELISA Kit

Human HIST1H2AB ELISA kits are used to detect Histone Cluster 1, H2ab (HIST1H2AB) in tissue homogenates, cell lysates, cell culture supernatants and other biological samples. HIST1H2AB encodes a replication-dependent histone H2A type 1 protein, a core histone that, with H2B, H3 and H4, forms the octamer around which DNA is wrapped to create the nucleosome. Nucleosomes compact DNA into chromatin and so limit access of the machinery needed for transcription, replication and repair. The histone H2A tails and globular domain carry modifications such as ubiquitination, phosphorylation and acetylation that influence chromatin structure and gene regulation. Canonical H2A histones are synthesised predominantly during S phase to package newly replicated DNA and are encoded by clustered genes on chromosome 6. Histone H2A and its modifications are studied in epigenetics, and histones released from damaged cells may also act as inflammatory mediators.
