Description
Human HSD17B3 Recombinant Protein (N-His)
Human HSD17B3 Recombinant Protein (N-His) is a recombinant protein expressed in E. coli, spanning Met1-Arg310, with an N-terminal His tag. Predicted molecular weight: 36.68 kDa. Purity: >90% as determined by SDS-PAGE. Supplied lyophilized from a solution in PBS pH 7.4, 0.02% NLS, 1 mM EDTA, 4% Trehalose, 1% Mannitol. Applications: ELISA, immunogen, SDS-PAGE and Western blot. 17-beta-hydroxysteroid dehydrogenase type 3 (HSD17B3) is a ~34 kDa protein. Catalyzes the conversion of 17-oxosteroids to 17beta-hydroxysteroids. For research use only.
Favors the reduction of androstenedione to testosterone. Testosterone is the key androgen driving male development and function. Uses NADPH while the two other EDH17B enzymes use NADH. Androgens such as epiandrosterone, dehydroepiandrosterone, androsterone and androstanedione are accepted as substrates and reduced at C-17.
