Description

Human IL22 ELISA Kit

Human IL22 ELISA kits are used to detect Interleukin 22 (IL22) in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell lysates, cell culture supernatants and other biological samples. IL22 is a member of the IL-10 cytokine family, produced mainly by T helper 17 and Th22 cells, innate lymphoid cells and some natural killer cells. Unlike most cytokines it does not act on immune cells but on non-immune cells in organs such as skin, intestine, liver and lung, signalling through a heterodimeric receptor of IL22RA1 and IL10RB. Receptor engagement activates JAK1, TYK2 and STAT3, with ERK1/2 and PI3K/AKT pathways, promoting cell survival and proliferation, and epithelial cell spreading. IL22 is essential for epithelial regeneration and barrier function after injury and helps prevent further tissue damage. Altered IL22 has been associated with inflammatory bowel disease, psoriasis and infection, so it is a focus of mucosal immunology research.
