Description

Human IL27A ELISA Kit

Human IL27A ELISA kits are used to detect Interleukin 27A (IL27A) in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates and other biological samples. IL27A, also called interleukin-27 subunit alpha, IL-30 or p28, is one of the two chains of the heterodimeric cytokine IL-27, which it forms with EBI3. IL-27 is mainly produced by antigen-presenting cells and has both pro- and anti-inflammatory properties. It binds the receptor WSX-1 (IL-27R alpha) together with gp130 and activates STAT1, STAT3, STAT4 and STAT5. IL-27 promotes the early phase of the Th1 response, drives expansion of naive CD4 T cells, synergizes with IL-12 to induce interferon gamma, suppresses Th2 and Th17 differentiation and can stimulate cytotoxic T-cell activity and B-cell isotype switching. It is also a potent inhibitor of IL-17 production. IL-27 is studied in infection, autoimmune and inflammatory disease and cancer immunotherapy.
