Description

Human IL8Rb ELISA Kit

Human IL8Rb ELISA kits are used to detect Interleukin 8 Receptor Beta (IL8Rb) in tissue homogenates, cell lysates and other biological samples. IL8Rb, also known as CXCR2 or CD182, is a G protein-coupled chemokine receptor expressed mainly on neutrophils and other myeloid cells. It binds interleukin-8 with high affinity, as well as CXCL3, GRO/MGSA and NAP-2, and signals through a G protein that activates a phosphatidylinositol-calcium second messenger system, leading to neutrophil activation and chemotaxis. It helps guide neutrophil migration to necrotic sites in the wound healing response to tissue injury while limiting collateral damage to healthy tissue. IL8Rb signaling contributes to neutrophil recruitment in inflammatory conditions and to tumor angiogenesis, so it is studied in inflammation and cancer, and as a drug target.
