Description

Human IL9 ELISA Kit

Human IL9 ELISA kits are used to detect Interleukin 9 (IL9) in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell lysates, cell culture supernatants and other biological samples. IL9 is a pleiotropic cytokine produced mainly by Th2 and Th9 lymphocytes, as well as by mast cells and natural killer T cells. It signals through a receptor made up of IL9R and the common gamma chain, which activates JAK1 and JAK3 and the transcription factors STAT1, STAT3 and STAT5 to drive survival and proliferation. IL9 stimulates the growth and differentiation of mast cells, promotes the differentiation of IL-17-producing helper T cells, and alters intestinal epithelial permeability, all of which contribute to immunity against parasitic worms. Excess IL9 activity has been associated with allergic asthma, mucus overproduction and intestinal inflammation, and it has also been investigated in autoimmune disease and in certain lymphomas.
