Description

Human ILK ELISA Kit

Human ILK ELISA kits are used to detect Integrin Linked Kinase (ILK) in tissue homogenates and other biological samples. ILK is integrin-linked kinase, a scaffold protein that, despite its name, is considered a catalytically inactive pseudokinase. It couples integrins to the actin cytoskeleton by assembling the IPP complex with PINCH (LIMS1) and parvin, which bundles F-actin and generates the force needed for focal adhesion assembly, cell spreading and migration. ILK also contributes to inside-out integrin activation, acts upstream of AKT and GSK3, supports delivery of caveolae to the cell surface through IQGAP1, maintains mitotic spindle integrity by promoting TACC3 phosphorylation by Aurora A, and may repress transcription in the nucleus. Altered ILK expression has been associated with tumor progression, fibrosis and cardiac disease, making it a target in cancer and cardiovascular research.
