Description

Human ITGaX ELISA Kit

Human ITGaX ELISA kits are used to detect Integrin alpha-X (ITGaX) in tissue homogenates, cell lysates and other biological samples. ITGAX, integrin alpha-X, also known as CD11c, forms the heterodimeric integrin complement receptor 4 (p150,95) with the beta-2 integrin chain CD18. It is a characteristic marker of dendritic cells and is also found on monocytes, macrophages, natural killer cells and some activated lymphocytes. The receptor binds fibrinogen, through a G-P-R sequence, and complement fragment iC3b, and mediates cell-cell and cell-matrix adhesion, monocyte chemotaxis and phagocytosis, in addition to recognizing ICAM4 on erythrocytes to promote erythrophagocytosis. It has important roles in inflammatory responses and in antigen presentation. Altered CD11c expression has been associated with atherosclerosis, obesity-related inflammation, autoimmune disease and hairy cell leukaemia, so ITGAX is widely used to identify dendritic cell populations.
