Description

Human JNK ELISA Kit

Human JNK ELISA kits are used to detect c-Jun N-terminal kinases (JNK) in tissue homogenates, cell lysates and other biological samples. JNK refers to the c-Jun N-terminal kinases, a group of serine/threonine kinases of the mitogen-activated protein kinase family encoded by three genes, MAPK8, MAPK9 and MAPK10, also called JNK1, JNK2 and JNK3. JNK1 and JNK2 are expressed widely, whereas JNK3 is found mainly in the brain, heart and testis. They are activated by cellular stresses such as UV light, oxidative stress, osmotic shock and inflammatory cytokines through MKK4 and MKK7, and they phosphorylate c-Jun and other transcription factors, which regulates proliferation, differentiation, inflammation and apoptosis. Sustained JNK activation has been associated with neurodegeneration, insulin resistance, obesity, liver injury, arthritis and cancer, and JNK inhibitors are studied as potential therapeutics.
