Description
Human KDM2A Recombinant Protein (N-His)
Human KDM2A Recombinant Protein (N-His) is a recombinant protein expressed in E. coli, spanning Thr931-Ser1162, with an N-terminal His tag. Predicted molecular weight: 28.16 kDa. Purity: >90% as determined by SDS-PAGE. Supplied lyophilized from a solution in PBS pH 7.4, 1 mM EDTA, 4% Trehalose, 1% Mannitol. Applications: ELISA, immunogen, SDS-PAGE and Western blot. Lysine-specific demethylase 2A is a ~132 kDa protein. Histone demethylase that specifically demethylates 'Lys-36' of histone H3, thereby playing a central role in histone code. For research use only.
Preferentially demethylates dimethylated H3 'Lys-36' residue while it has weak or no activity for mono- and tri-methylated H3 'Lys-36'. May also recognize and bind to some phosphorylated proteins and promote their ubiquitination and degradation. Required to maintain the heterochromatic state. Associates with centromeres and represses transcription of small non-coding RNAs that are encoded by the clusters of satellite repeats at the centromere.
