Description
Human KRT2 Recombinant Protein (N-His)
Human KRT2 Recombinant Protein (N-His) is a recombinant protein expressed in E. coli, spanning Cys7-Leu160, with an N-terminal His tag. Predicted molecular weight: 15.81 kDa. Purity: >90% as determined by SDS-PAGE. Supplied lyophilized from a solution in PBS pH 7.4, 0.02% NLS, 1 mM EDTA, 4% Trehalose, 1% Mannitol. Applications: ELISA, immunogen, SDS-PAGE and Western blot. Keratin, type II cytoskeletal 2 epidermal (KRT2) is a ~65 kDa protein. Probably contributes to terminal cornification. For research use only.
Associated with keratinocyte activation, proliferation and keratinization. Required for maintenance of corneocytes and keratin filaments in suprabasal keratinocytes in the epidermis of the ear, potentially via moderation of expression and localization of keratins and their partner proteins. Plays a role in the establishment of the epidermal barrier on plantar skin.
