Description

Human LIFR ELISA Kit

Human LIFR ELISA kits are used to detect Leukemia Inhibitory Factor Receptor (LIFR) in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell lysates and other biological samples. LIFR, or leukaemia inhibitory factor receptor (CD118), is a cytokine receptor chain that acts as a signal-transducing subunit. It pairs with gp130 (IL6ST) to form the receptor for LIF, and it also contributes to the receptor complexes for ciliary neurotrophic factor, oncostatin M, cardiotrophin-1 and related cytokines. Ligand binding activates JAK kinases and downstream STAT3 and MAPK signalling, which influence stem cell self-renewal, neural and cardiac development, bone remodelling, inflammation and the acute-phase response. A soluble form is also found in the circulation and may bind LIF. Mutations in LIFR cause Stuve-Wiedemann syndrome, a skeletal dysplasia, and altered LIFR signalling has been associated with cancer progression and metastasis.
