Description

Human LMAN2 ELISA Kit

Human LMAN2 ELISA kits are used to detect Lectin, Mannose Binding 2 (LMAN2) in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates and other biological samples. LMAN2, also known as VIP36, is a vesicular integral-membrane lectin that cycles between the endoplasmic reticulum, the Golgi apparatus and the plasma membrane. It plays a role as an intracellular lectin in the early secretory pathway, interacting with N-acetyl-D-galactosamine and high-mannose type glycans and possibly also binding O-linked glycans. It is involved in the transport and sorting of glycoproteins carrying high mannose-type glycans, acting as a cargo receptor that helps move them through the secretory pathway. LMAN2 has also been reported to interact with galectins and to influence secretion of certain glycoproteins, and altered expression has been reported in some cancers, so it is studied in glycoprotein trafficking and quality control.
