Description
Human MAOA Recombinant Protein (N-His)
Human MAOA Recombinant Protein (N-His) is a recombinant protein expressed in E. coli, spanning Asp15-Ser527, with an N-terminal His tag. Predicted molecular weight: 60.40 kDa. Purity: >90% as determined by SDS-PAGE. Supplied lyophilized from a solution in PBS pH 7.4, 0.02% NLS, 1 mM EDTA, 4% Trehalose, 1% Mannitol. Applications: ELISA, immunogen, SDS-PAGE and Western blot. Amine oxidase [flavin-containing] A (MAOA) is a ~59 kDa protein. Catalyzes the oxidative deamination of primary and some secondary amine such as neurotransmitters, with concomitant reduction of oxygen to hydrogen peroxide and has important functions in the metabolism of neuroactive and vasoactive amines in the central nervous system and peripheral tissues. For research use only.
Preferentially oxidizes serotonin. Also catalyzes the oxidative deamination of kynuramine to 3-(2-aminophenyl)-3-oxopropanal that can spontaneously condense to 4-hydroxyquinoline.
