Description
Human MAP1LC3A Recombinant Protein (N-His)
Human MAP1LC3A Recombinant Protein (N-His) is a recombinant protein expressed in E. coli, spanning Met1-Gly120, with an N-terminal His tag. Predicted molecular weight: 16.42 kDa. Purity: >90% as determined by SDS-PAGE. Supplied lyophilized from a solution in PBS pH 7.4, 0.02% NLS, 1 mM EDTA, 4% Trehalose, 1% Mannitol. Applications: ELISA, immunogen, SDS-PAGE and Western blot. Microtubule-associated protein 1 light chain 3 alpha (MAP1LC3A) is a ~14 kDa protein. Ubiquitin-like modifier involved in formation of autophagosomal vacuoles (autophagosomes). For research use only.
While LC3s are involved in elongation of the phagophore membrane, the GABARAP/GATE-16 subfamily is essential for a later stage in autophagosome maturation. Through its interaction with the reticulophagy receptor TEX264, participates in the remodeling of subdomains of the endoplasmic reticulum into autophagosomes upon nutrient stress, which then fuse with lysosomes for endoplasmic reticulum turnover.
