Description
Human MAP2K5 Recombinant Protein (N-His)
Human MAP2K5 Recombinant Protein (N-His) is a recombinant protein expressed in E. coli, spanning Ser144-Pro448, with an N-terminal His tag. Predicted molecular weight: 36.54 kDa. Purity: >90% as determined by SDS-PAGE. Supplied lyophilized from a solution in PBS pH 7.4, 1 mM EDTA, 4% Trehalose, 1% Mannitol. Applications: ELISA, immunogen, SDS-PAGE and Western blot. Dual specificity mitogen-activated protein kinase kinase 5 is a ~50 kDa protein. Acts as a scaffold for the formation of a ternary MAP3K2/MAP3K3-MAP3K5-MAPK7 signaling complex. For research use only.
Activation of this pathway appears to play a critical role in protecting cells from stress-induced apoptosis, neuronal survival and cardiac development and angiogenesis. As part of the MAPK/ERK signaling pathway, acts as a negative regulator of apoptosis in cardiomyocytes via promotion of STUB1/CHIP-mediated ubiquitination and degradation of ICER-type isoforms of CREM.
