Description
Human MAPK8IP1 Recombinant Protein (N-His)
Human MAPK8IP1 Recombinant Protein (N-His) is a recombinant protein expressed in E. coli, spanning Arg468-Glu711, with an N-terminal His tag. Predicted molecular weight: 30.27 kDa. Purity: >90% as determined by SDS-PAGE. Supplied lyophilized from a solution in PBS pH 7.4, 0.02% NLS, 1 mM EDTA, 4% Trehalose, 1% Mannitol. Applications: ELISA, immunogen, SDS-PAGE and Western blot. C-Jun-amino-terminal kinase-interacting protein 1 (MAPK8IP1) is a ~77 kDa protein. The JNK-interacting protein (JIP) group of scaffold proteins selectively mediates JNK signaling by aggregating specific components of the MAPK cascade to form a functional JNK signaling module. For research use only.
Required for JNK activation in response to excitotoxic stress. Cytoplasmic MAPK8IP1 causes inhibition of JNK-regulated activity by retaining JNK in the cytoplasm and inhibiting JNK phosphorylation of c-Jun. May also participate in ApoER2-specific reelin signaling. Directly, or indirectly, regulates GLUT2 gene expression and beta-cell function.
