Description

Human MAS1 ELISA Kit

Human MAS1 ELISA kits are used to detect Proto-oncogene Mas (MAS1) in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell lysates, cell culture supernatants and other biological samples. MAS1 is a G protein-coupled receptor that belongs to the protective, counter-regulatory arm of the renin-angiotensin system. It is stimulated mainly by angiotensin 1-7, a metabolite generated by ACE2, and its activation promotes nitric oxide production through the PI3K/Akt-eNOS pathway while also modulating MAPK, ERK1/2 and NF-kappa-B signalling. MAS1 raises AGTR1 levels through G proteins and protein kinase C, yet it physically alters AGTR1 so as to antagonise its function. It has also been reported to act as a receptor for the chemokine CXCL17, inducing chemotactic movement. Because of these roles, MAS1 is studied in cardiovascular, renal and metabolic research, where its signalling is generally viewed as vasoprotective.
