Description
Human MEF2D Recombinant Protein (N-His)
Human MEF2D Recombinant Protein (N-His) is a recombinant protein expressed in E. coli, spanning Met1-Ser133, with an N-terminal His tag. Predicted molecular weight: 17.74 kDa. Purity: >90% as determined by SDS-PAGE. Supplied lyophilized from a solution in PBS pH 7.4, 1 mM EDTA, 4% Trehalose, 1% Mannitol. Applications: ELISA, immunogen, SDS-PAGE and Western blot. Myocyte-specific enhancer factor 2D is a ~55 kDa protein. Transcriptional activator which binds specifically to the MEF2 element, 5'-YTA[AT](4)TAR-3', found in numerous muscle-specific, growth factor- and stress-induced genes. For research use only.
Mediates cellular functions not only in skeletal and cardiac muscle development, but also in neuronal differentiation and survival. Plays diverse roles in the control of cell growth, survival and apoptosis via p38 MAPK signaling in muscle-specific and/or growth factor-related transcription. Plays a critical role in the regulation of neuronal apoptosis.
