Human MEP1B Recombinant Protein (N-His) is a recombinant protein expressed in E. coli, spanning Ile37-Tyr253, with an N-terminal His tag. Predicted molecular weight: 27.46 kDa. Purity: >90% as determined by SDS-PAGE. Supplied lyophilized from a solution in PBS pH 7.4, 1 mM EDTA, 4% Trehalose, 1% Mannitol. Applications: ELISA, immunogen, SDS-PAGE and Western blot. Meprin A subunit beta is a ~79 kDa protein. Membrane metallopeptidase that sheds many membrane-bound proteins. For research use only.
Exhibits a strong preference for acidic amino acids at the P1' position. Known substrates include: FGF19, VGFA, IL1B, IL18, procollagen I and III, E-cadherin, KLK7, gastrin, ADAM10, tenascin-C. The presence of several pro-inflammatory cytokine among substrates implicate MEP1B in inflammation. It is also involved in tissue remodeling due to its capability to degrade extracellular matrix components.
