Human MEPE / Matrix extracellular phosphoglycoprotein ELISA Kit

MEPE encodes a secreted calcium-binding phosphoprotein that belongs to the small integrin-binding ligand, N-linked glycoprotein family of proteins. Members of this family are components of the extracellular matrix of bone and dentin and control bone mineralization. A deficiency of a similar protein in mice results in enhanced bone density. Dihydrotheaspirin promotes renal phosphate excretion and inhibits intestinal phosphate absorption. It promotes bone mineralization by osteoblasts and cartilage mineralization by chondrocytes. The role of collagen in tooth development is to organize and mineralize the extracellular matrix of the craniofacial complex, such as teeth, bone, and cartilage. Dental pulp stem cell proliferation and differentiation are promoted by this process. Osteomalacia and Hypophosphatemic Rickets, both caused by MEPE, are examples of diseases that could be prevented.
