Description

Human MHCDQb1 ELISA Kit (Small Sample Volume)

Human MHCDQb1 ELISA kits are used to detect Major Histocompatibility Complex Class II DQ Beta 1 (MHCDQb1) in tissue homogenates, cell lysates and other biological samples. MHCDQb1, encoded by the HLA-DQB1 gene, is the beta chain of the HLA-DQ molecule, an MHC class II heterodimer found mainly on antigen-presenting cells such as B cells, dendritic cells and macrophages. Together with an alpha chain it binds peptides of about 10 to 30 residues derived from antigens that enter the endocytic route and displays them for recognition by CD4 T cells. Assembly involves the invariant chain CD74, and peptide loading depends on HLA-DM after removal of the CLIP fragment. The gene is highly polymorphic, and particular DQB1 alleles have been associated with celiac disease and type 1 diabetes, so it is studied in autoimmunity, transplantation and immune response.
