Human MMP12 Recombinant Protein (N-His) is a recombinant protein expressed in E. coli, spanning Ala290-Gly469, with an N-terminal His tag. Predicted molecular weight: 23.93 kDa. Purity: >90% as determined by SDS-PAGE. Supplied lyophilized from a solution in PBS pH 7.4, 0.02% NLS, 1 mM EDTA, 4% Trehalose, 1% Mannitol. Applications: ELISA, immunogen, SDS-PAGE and Western blot. Macrophage metalloelastase (MMP12) is a ~54 kDa protein. May be involved in tissue injury and remodeling. For research use only.
Has significant elastolytic activity. Can accept large and small amino acids at the P1' site, but has a preference for leucine. Aromatic or hydrophobic residues are preferred at the P1 site, with small hydrophobic residues (preferably alanine) occupying P3.
