Description

Human MRC1 ELISA Kit

Human MRC1 ELISA kits are used to detect Mannose Receptor C Type 1 (MRC1) in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates and other biological samples. MRC1, the mannose receptor C type 1, is also called CD206 and is a C-type lectin receptor found mainly on macrophages and dendritic cells and some endothelial cells. It binds glycoproteins carrying terminal mannose, fucose or N-acetylglucosamine as well as sulfated polysaccharides, and mediates their endocytosis. It acts as a phagocytic receptor for bacteria, fungi and other pathogens, and has been reported to serve as a receptor for dengue virus envelope protein and to interact with the hepatitis B virus envelope. CD206 is a widely used marker of alternatively activated, M2-like macrophages, and a soluble form can be detected in blood. Elevated levels have been associated with inflammatory and infectious disease and with tumour-associated macrophages.
