Description
Human MSRA Recombinant Protein (N-His)
Human MSRA Recombinant Protein (N-His) is a recombinant protein expressed in E. coli, spanning Ala27-Lys235, with an N-terminal His tag. Predicted molecular weight: 25.53 kDa. Purity: >90% as determined by SDS-PAGE. Supplied lyophilized from a solution in PBS pH 7.4, 0.02% NLS, 1 mM EDTA, 4% Trehalose, 1% Mannitol. Applications: ELISA, immunogen, SDS-PAGE and Western blot. Mitochondrial peptide methionine sulfoxide reductase (MSRA) is a ~26 kDa protein. Catalyzes the reversible oxidation-reduction of methionine sulfoxide in proteins to methionine. For research use only.
Has an important function as a repair enzyme for proteins that have been inactivated by oxidation. Plays a crucial role in repairing oxidized methionine residues in key lens proteins, such as alpha-crystallin (CRYAA/CRYAB) and cytochrome c (CYCS), thereby restoring their function and maintaining lens transparency.
