Human MX2 Recombinant Protein (N-His) is a recombinant protein expressed in E. coli, spanning Met1-Asp300, with an N-terminal His tag. Predicted molecular weight: 35.44 kDa. Purity: >90% as determined by SDS-PAGE. Supplied lyophilized from a solution in PBS pH 7.4, 0.02% NLS, 1 mM EDTA, 4% Trehalose, 1% Mannitol. Applications: ELISA, immunogen, SDS-PAGE and Western blot. Interferon-induced GTP-binding protein Mx2 is a ~82 kDa protein. Interferon-induced dynamin-like GTPase with potent antiviral activity against human immunodeficiency virus type 1 (HIV-1). Acts by targeting the viral capsid and affects the nuclear uptake and/or stability of the HIV-1 replication complex and the subsequent chromosomal integration of the proviral DNA. Exhibits antiviral activity also against simian immunodeficiency virus (SIV-mnd). May play a role in regulating nucleocytoplasmic transport and cell-cycle progression.
