Human NOCT Recombinant Protein (N-His)
Human NOCT Recombinant Protein (N-His) is a recombinant protein expressed in E. coli, spanning Thr120-Ser431, with an N-terminal His tag. Predicted molecular weight: 37.85 kDa. Purity: >90% as determined by SDS-PAGE. Supplied lyophilized from a solution in PBS pH 7.4, 1 mM EDTA, 4% Trehalose, 1% Mannitol. Applications: ELISA, immunogen, SDS-PAGE and Western blot. Nocturnin is a ~48 kDa protein. Phosphatase which catalyzes the conversion of NADP(+) to NAD(+) and of NADPH to NADH. For research use only.
Shows a small preference for NADPH over NADP(+). Represses translation and promotes degradation of target mRNA molecules. Plays an important role in post-transcriptional regulation of metabolic genes under circadian control. Exerts a rhythmic post-transcriptional control of genes necessary for metabolic functions including nutrient absorption, glucose/insulin sensitivity, lipid metabolism, adipogenesis, inflammation and osteogenesis.
