Description

Human NRXN3 ELISA Kit

Human NRXN3 ELISA kits are used to detect Neurexin3 (NRXN3) in serum, plasma and other biological samples. NRXN3 is neurexin-3, a member of the neurexin family of neuronal cell-surface proteins, which exist as long alpha and shorter beta forms and are enriched at presynaptic terminals. It is thought to be involved in cell recognition and cell adhesion and may mediate intracellular signaling, working with postsynaptic partners such as neuroligins to organize synapses. Neurexin genes are extensively alternatively spliced, generating many variants that help determine synaptic specificity. NRXN3 is expressed widely in the brain, and variation in the gene has been associated with neurodevelopmental and psychiatric traits, including autism, as well as with substance use and obesity-related traits in genetic studies, so it is of interest in research on synapse formation and neuropsychiatric disease.
