Human P4HB Recombinant Protein (N-His) is a recombinant protein expressed in E. coli, spanning Asp18-Leu508, with an N-terminal His tag. Predicted molecular weight: 57.59 kDa. Purity: >90% as determined by SDS-PAGE. Supplied lyophilized from a solution in PBS pH 7.4, 1 mM EDTA, 4% Trehalose, 1% Mannitol. Applications: ELISA, immunogen, SDS-PAGE and Western blot. Protein disulfide-isomerase is a ~57 kDa protein. This multifunctional protein catalyzes the formation, breakage and rearrangement of disulfide bonds. For research use only.
At the cell surface, seems to act as a reductase that cleaves disulfide bonds of proteins attached to the cell. May therefore cause structural modifications of exofacial proteins. Inside the cell, seems to form/rearrange disulfide bonds of nascent proteins. At high concentrations and following phosphorylation by FAM20C, functions as a chaperone that inhibits aggregation of misfolded proteins.
