Description

Human PA2G4 ELISA Kit (Small Sample Volume)

Human PA2G4 ELISA kits are used to detect Proliferation Associated Protein 2G4 (PA2G4) in tissue homogenates, cell lysates and other biological samples. PA2G4, also called EBP1, is a multifunctional RNA-binding protein found in both the nucleus and cytoplasm that was first identified through its interaction with ERBB3 and its regulation by neuregulin-1 (heregulin). It associates with ribosomal RNAs and their precursors and is thought to contribute to rRNA processing and ribosome assembly, and it can support cap-independent translation of some viral IRES elements. PA2G4 also acts as a corepressor of the androgen receptor and represses certain E2F1-regulated promoters. Its two isoforms have different effects, one suppressing apoptosis and the other promoting differentiation, which is why PA2G4 is investigated in cancer and in the control of cell growth.
