Human PSMC3IP Recombinant Protein (N-His-SUMO)
Human PSMC3IP Recombinant Protein (N-His-SUMO) is a recombinant protein expressed in E. coli, spanning Ser2-Ser82, with an N-terminal His-SUMO tag. Purity: >90% as determined by SDS-PAGE. Supplied lyophilized from a solution in PBS pH 7.4, 1 mM EDTA, 4% Trehalose, 1% Mannitol. Applications: ELISA, immunogen, SDS-PAGE and Western blot. Homologous-pairing protein 2 homolog is a ~24 kDa protein. Plays an important role in meiotic recombination. For research use only.
Stimulates DMC1-mediated strand exchange required for pairing homologous chromosomes during meiosis. The complex PSMC3IP/MND1 binds DNA, stimulates the recombinase activity of DMC1 as well as DMC1 D-loop formation from double-strand DNA. This complex stabilizes presynaptic RAD51 and DMC1 filaments formed on single strand DNA to capture double-strand DNA. This complex stimulates both synaptic and presynaptic critical steps in RAD51 and DMC1-promoted homologous pairing.
