Description

Human PSME3 ELISA Kit (Small Sample Volume)

Human PSME3 ELISA kits are used to detect Proteasome Activator Subunit 3 (PSME3) in tissue homogenates, cell lysates and other biological samples. PSME3, also known as REG-gamma, PA28-gamma or the Ki nuclear autoantigen, is a subunit of the 11S proteasome regulator, a doughnut-shaped homoheptamer that associates with the proteasome. It activates the trypsin-like catalytic subunit of the proteasome while inhibiting the chymotrypsin-like and postglutamyl-preferring subunits. PSME3 facilitates the interaction between MDM2 and p53, promoting MDM2-dependent proteasomal degradation of p53 and limiting apoptosis after DNA damage, and it may be involved in cell cycle regulation. It also mediates CCAR2- and CHEK2-dependent inhibition of SIRT1. Because it is raised in several cancers, PSME3 is studied in protein degradation, tumour biology and the DNA damage response.
