Human PTEN ELISA Kit

PTEN has been identified as a tumour suppressor that is frequently mutated in a large number of cancers. PTEN has a tensin-like domain as well as a catalytic domain that is similar to that of tyrosine phosphatases with dual specificity. PTEN, unlike most protein tyrosine phosphatases, prefers to dephosphorylate phosphoinositide substrates. PTEN functions as a tumour suppressor by negatively regulating the AKT/PKB signalling pathway and negatively regulating intracellular levels of phosphatidylinositol-3,4,5-trisphosphate in cells. Cowden Syndrome 1 and Macrocephaly/Autism Syndrome are two diseases linked to PTEN. Integrin Pathway and pathways affecting insulin-like growth factor (IGF1)-Akt signalling, are PTEN related pathways.
