Description
Human PYCR2 Recombinant Protein (N-His)
Human PYCR2 Recombinant Protein (N-His) is a recombinant protein expressed in E. coli, spanning Met1-Lys276, with an N-terminal His tag. Predicted molecular weight: 31.23 kDa. Purity: >90% as determined by SDS-PAGE. Supplied lyophilized from a solution in PBS pH 7.4, 0.02% NLS, 1 mM EDTA, 4% Trehalose, 1% Mannitol. Applications: ELISA, immunogen, SDS-PAGE and Western blot. Pyrroline-5-carboxylate reductase 2 (PYCR2) is a ~33 kDa protein. Oxidoreductase that catalyzes the last step in proline biosynthesis, which corresponds to the reduction of pyrroline-5-carboxylate to L-proline using NAD(P)H. For research use only.
At physiologic concentrations, has higher specific activity in the presence of NADH. Involved in cellular response to oxidative stress. In some cell types, such as erythrocytes, its primary function may be the generation of NADP(+).
