Human RBBP5 Recombinant Protein (N-His)

Human RBBP5 Recombinant Protein (N-His) is a recombinant protein expressed in E. coli, spanning Glu15-Asn324, with an N-terminal His tag. Predicted molecular weight: 36.66 kDa. Purity: >90% as determined by SDS-PAGE. Supplied lyophilized from a solution in PBS pH 7.4, 1 mM EDTA, 4% Trehalose, 1% Mannitol. Applications: ELISA, immunogen, SDS-PAGE and Western blot. Retinoblastoma-binding protein 5 is a ~59 kDa protein. In embryonic stem (ES) cells, plays a crucial role in the differentiation potential, particularly along the neural lineage, regulating gene induction and H3 'Lys-4' methylation at key developmental loci, including that mediated by retinoic acid. For research use only.

Does not affect ES cell self-renewal. Component or associated component of some histone methyltransferase complexes which regulates transcription through recruitment of those complexes to gene promoters. As part of the MLL1/MLL complex, involved in mono-, di- and trimethylation at 'Lys-4' of histone H3. Histone H3 'Lys-4' methylation represents a specific tag for epigenetic transcriptional activation.
