Description

Human REG1b ELISA Kit

Human REG1b ELISA kits are used to detect Regenerating Islet Derived Protein 1 Beta (REG1b) in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell lysates, cell culture supernatants and other biological samples. REG1b, regenerating islet-derived protein 1 beta, also called lithostathine-1-beta or pancreatic stone protein 2, is a secreted C-type lectin-like protein produced mainly by pancreatic acinar cells and also found in the intestine. It might act as an inhibitor of spontaneous calcium carbonate precipitation in pancreatic juice, and it may be associated with neuronal sprouting in the brain and with regeneration of the brain and pancreas. REG1b levels may be elevated in pancreatitis and in some gastrointestinal cancers, and related REG proteins increase in the circulation in infection and inflammation, so REG1b is studied as a marker of pancreatic and intestinal injury.
