Description

Human RORa ELISA Kit

Human RORa ELISA kits are used to detect RAR Related Orphan Receptor Alpha (RORa) in tissue homogenates, cell lysates and other biological samples. RORa is a nuclear receptor that binds DNA as a monomer at ROR response elements and is regulated by sterol ligands such as oxysterols. It is a key regulator of embryonic development, cell differentiation, immunity, lipid and glucose metabolism, and circadian rhythm. It drives cerebellar development and photoreceptor and skeletal muscle gene expression, and it competes with the repressor NR1D1 at clock gene promoters, so that it influences the period and stability of the circadian clock. It also regulates genes of lipid metabolism, including apolipoproteins. Variants in RORA have been associated with a neurodevelopmental disorder involving intellectual disability, autism features, cerebellar ataxia and epilepsy, and RORa is also studied in inflammation and metabolic disease.
