Description

Human SDPR ELISA Kit

Human SDPR ELISA kits are used to detect Serum Deprivation Response Protein (SDPR) in tissue homogenates, cell lysates and other biological samples. SDPR, also known as cavin-2, is a phosphatidylserine-binding protein that is a component of caveolae, the small flask-shaped invaginations of the plasma membrane. It is induced when cells are deprived of serum and is highly expressed in tissues such as the lung, heart and adipose tissue. It plays a role in caveola biogenesis and shape by inducing membrane curvature, and it is required for caveolae formation in lung and fat endothelium but not in heart endothelium. Reduced SDPR expression has been reported in certain cancers, such as breast cancer, so it is studied in membrane biology and tumour research.
