Description
Human SEC63 Recombinant Protein (N-His)
Human SEC63 Recombinant Protein (N-His) is a recombinant protein expressed in E. coli, spanning Arg226-Gly376, with an N-terminal His tag. Predicted molecular weight: 19.76 kDa. Purity: >90% as determined by SDS-PAGE. Supplied lyophilized from a solution in PBS pH 7.4, 1 mM EDTA, 4% Trehalose, 1% Mannitol. Applications: ELISA, immunogen, SDS-PAGE and Western blot. Translocation protein SEC63 homolog is a ~87 kDa protein. Mediates cotranslational and post-translational transport of certain precursor polypeptides across endoplasmic reticulum (ER). For research use only.
Proposed to play an auxiliary role in recognition of precursors with short and apolar signal peptides. May cooperate with SEC62 and HSPA5/BiP to facilitate targeting of small presecretory proteins into the SEC61 channel-forming translocon complex, triggering channel opening for polypeptide translocation to the ER lumen. Required for efficient PKD1/Polycystin-1 biogenesis and trafficking to the plasma membrane of the primary cilia.
