Description
Human SETD7 Recombinant Protein (N-His)
Human SETD7 Recombinant Protein (N-His) is a recombinant protein expressed in E. coli, spanning Met1-Lys366, with an N-terminal His tag. Predicted molecular weight: 42.88 kDa. Purity: >90% as determined by SDS-PAGE. Supplied lyophilized from a solution in PBS pH 7.4, 0.02% NLS, 1 mM EDTA, 4% Trehalose, 1% Mannitol. Applications: ELISA, immunogen, SDS-PAGE and Western blot. Histone-lysine N-methyltransferase SETD7 is a ~40 kDa protein. Histone methyltransferase that specifically monomethylates 'Lys-4' of histone H3. For research use only.
H3 'Lys-4' methylation represents a specific tag for epigenetic transcriptional activation. Plays a central role in the transcriptional activation of genes such as collagenase or insulin. Recruited by IPF1/PDX-1 to the insulin promoter, leading to activate transcription. Also has methyltransferase activity toward non-histone proteins such as CGAS, p53/TP53, TAF10, and possibly TAF7 by recognizing and binding the [KR]-[STA]-K in substrate proteins.
