Description
Human SHBG Recombinant Protein (N-His)
Human SHBG Recombinant Protein (N-His) is a recombinant protein expressed in E. coli, spanning Gly224-His388, with an N-terminal His tag. Predicted molecular weight: 19.97 kDa. Purity: >90% as determined by SDS-PAGE. Supplied lyophilized from a solution in PBS pH 7.4, 0.02% NLS, 1 mM EDTA, 4% Trehalose, 1% Mannitol. Applications: ELISA, immunogen, SDS-PAGE and Western blot. Sex hormone-binding globulin (SHBG) is a ~43 kDa protein. Functions as an androgen transport protein, but may also be involved in receptor mediated processes. For research use only.
Each dimer binds one molecule of steroid. Specific for 5-alpha-dihydrotestosterone, testosterone, and 17-beta-estradiol. Regulates the plasma metabolic clearance rate of steroid hormones by controlling their plasma concentration.
