Description

Human SIRT7 ELISA Kit

Human SIRT7 ELISA kits are used to detect Sirtuin 7 (SIRT7) in tissue homogenates, cell lysates, cell culture supernatants and other biological samples. SIRT7 is a member of the sirtuin family of NAD-dependent protein deacylases and is found mainly in the nucleolus, where it is associated with RNA polymerase I and ribosomal DNA. It specifically removes the acetyl group from lysine 18 of histone H3, which is linked to transcriptional repression, and it can also act as a desuccinylase, depropionylase, deglutarylase and dedecanoylase depending on the context. By supporting ribosomal RNA synthesis and by regulating gene expression, DNA repair and stress responses, it influences cell growth, metabolism and genome stability. SIRT7 is highly expressed in many cancers, where it may support the transformed state, and it has also been linked to ageing, liver metabolism and heart function.
